I am searching for home-based clerical employment. Under the Jarvis-Wagner Disabiility Act, access all federal, state, and local employment positions are to be accessible to us, and there is little open-door opportunities for us disabled workers that are skilled and want to have productive lives. Fed. programs that offer on-line training for telecommunications, that would enhance our skills and credentialize our talents, and make known that we are out here and have the desire to work within both the state and fed. agencies-are not presented, nor the opportunities. As a Presidential mandate, these opportunities for gainful employment, esp. home-based is widespread through the continental U.S., but not available to us in Hawaii, where it is a critical necessity for the disabiled here in HAWAII. Corporations in the U.S. should know that there are many of us at least 25% of Hawaii’s residents skilled in many fashions, wanting the opportunities for home-based employment for a major corporation. The overhead saved alone, should be enticing to utilize our services. There are many of us willing, skilled and able awaiting the chance for the opportunity to be productive as home-based workers.

This is a very informative blog. I encourage the writer from Hawaii to read the comment written May 27, 2006 on union opposition to government employees working from home. In order for disabled workers to convince the government to encourage working from home, they must convince the unions who represent those workers.
